Mark Rood

Mark met the Navigators in Virginia during college and soon felt called to serve overseas. While leading a Summer Training Program in Colorado, he met Jin, who shared his heart for missions. They married in 1999 and moved to Japan, where they pioneered a student ministry at Chuo University in Tokyo and raised their three children over 25 years of ministry. In 2023, they returned to the U.S., where Mark now serves as the Director of Develop on the Train, Develop, Care team (TDC) with the U.S. Navigators. He focuses on equipping leaders, teaming and coach training, and aligning national strategy with field realities. Mark also continues to serve as an itinerant missionary, supporting emerging indigenous leaders across 15+ countries in the Asia Pacific region.

Mark enjoys DIY projects and woodworking and is currently building his own house. Jin loves cooking international dishes. Their three children—Abigail (a Wheaton College graduate, married in 2023), Josiah (a senior), and Kayla (a junior)—are all Wheaton College students.
